Hardware Requirements
The CTERA Virtual Gateway can be installed in an Amazon Web Services EC2, Azure, Hyper-V, KVM, or VMware ESXi, environment.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) EC2 Environment
AWS EC2 instance that matches the license: The AWS EC2 version is supported on C4.large virtual machines and higher.
A network connection or router
Azure Environment
Azure instance that matches the license: The Azure version is supported on Standard_A4_V2 virtual machines and higher.
A network connection or router
Hyper-V Environment
Access to the CTERA Virtual Appliance *.vhd file from the Hyper-V Manager
A network connection or router
KVM Environment
Linux machine with KVM virtualization
Virtual Machine Manager (virt-manager) installed and running
CTERA Virtual Appliance *.qcow2 image file located on the machine
A network connection or router
VMware ESXi Environment
ESXi version 5.0 or higher installed
Access to the CTERA Virtual Appliance *.ova image file from the vSphere Client console

Software Requirements
In order to use the Cloud Storage Gateway web interface, you will need one of the following internet browsers:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 11.0 or later
Microsoft Edge
Google Chrome. The two latest versions are supported.
Mozilla Firefox. The two latest versions are supported.
Apple Safari. The two latest versions are supported.
Opening Ports on Your Firewall
In order to back up roaming PCs and remote offices outside your network using the CTERA Agent, you must open your firewall for the network where the CTERA Cloud Storage Gateway is located, to allow incoming TCP ports 22, 873 and 995 to the CTERA Cloud Storage Gateway.
