It has become a regular feature of our first issue of the year to include insights and comments from a range of storage sector luminaries around the trends they see emerging for the next year. Normally there are three or four broad topic areas that are touched upon by several of the contributors – but this year we saw a very unusual commonality of views being expressed.
No matter what part of the industry they came from, everyone wanted to talk about AI. We’ve never seen this happen before, and it would appear to reflect the way that this technology is spreading like wildfire across not just the storage sector but right across IT and indeed beyond into the wider world.
