Chief Architect

As CTERA's Chief Architect, you will play a core role in shaping the technical vision and ensuring the architecture aligns with the company’s strategic goals. You will define and oversee the architecture and design of our products, ensuring they are built for performance, scalability, and maintainability. You will report directly to our VP of Engineering. This role requires close collaboration with the CTO, product management, and our team of architects to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, architecture, or CTO roles, with significant expertise in designing and delivering scalable, distributed systems.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field (advanced degrees preferred).
• Deep knowledge of software security best practices, including secure design principles, threat modeling, and secure coding techniques.
• Proven expertise in microservices architectures, API design, and modern technology stack selection.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-based platforms, containerization, and big data.
• Advantage: Active contributions to open-source projects.
• Exceptional problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
• Passion for truly understanding customer needs to deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.

• Technical Leadership: Define and drive CTERA’s architecture and technology strategy, ensuring alignment with business and product goals.
• System Architecture: Lead the design of scalable, flexible, and secure systems with a focus on microservices architectures, API definitions, and modern technology stacks.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management to translate business requirements into detailed technical designs that align with the company's broader vision.
• Quality By Design: Promote high standards for code quality, performance, and security across the organization. Ensure architectural decisions support maintainability and long-term reliability.
• Technology Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends and best practices. Evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and tools to enhance CTERA’s solutions.
• Technological Roadmap Development: Ability to define and communicate the long-term technology roadmap and ensure it aligns with business strategy.
• Problem Solving: Serve as the go-to expert for resolving complex technical challenges, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
