Videos: CTERA Fusion

In this video, we will demonstrate CTERA Fusion, our unified file, and object data access. CTERA Fusion allows cloud applications to connect directly with enterprise file repositories, using the S3 Protocol.

FAQ

Our unified storage system integrates a multi-protocol architecture, offering native support for NFS v4.x, SMB 3.1.1, and S3 object storage APIs. This architecture leverages protocol translation layers to allow seamless interoperability between file-based and object-based workloads, enabling data to be accessed simultaneously via file and object protocols without requiring reformatting or migration.

For one, it\s built on a unified storage fabric that provides parallel I/O paths for NFS, SMB, and S3 workloads. Additionally, CTERA Fusion leverages a distributed global file system with automated load balancing and metadata synchronization to eliminate bottlenecks associated with traditional NAS systems. The system’s protocol-independent caching and advanced write-back policies further optimize I/O operations across various workloads, ensuring consistent high performance, regardless of protocol or data access patterns.

It employs distributed transactional metadata management with strong consistency guarantees across multiple access points. The system integrates atomic file operations and object storage consistency mechanisms, such as versioning and multi-part uploads for S3, with POSIX-compliant locking and file versioning for NFS and SMB. Integrity is ensured through end-to-end checksums, data redundancy policies (e.g., erasure coding), and automated integrity checks, ensuring data consistency across globally distributed environments without impacting performance.
