Yes, we support time-based retention policies alongside WORM protection. Organizations like yours can define specific retention periods during which data is immutable and cannot be modified or deleted. Once the retention period expires, data can be re-evaluated or deleted in compliance with data lifecycle management policies, allowing flexibility while ensuring immutability for the required duration. 

We employ only the most advanced encryption mechanisms alongside our WORM policies to enhance data security. Data is encrypted both at rest and in transit using AES-256 encryption. In addition to the immutability guaranteed by WORM, encryption ensures that unauthorized users cannot access or tamper with data, further protecting sensitive information during long-term retention. 

The WORM-protected data expires in the CTERA Vault. From there, the data can either be deleted, retained, or moved to a different storage tier, depending on your data management policies. We give you policy-based management for automated transitions of data, ensuring that your data adheres to lifecycle management requirements while preserving compliance.
