Sync Gateway Mode
Sync Gateway mode syncs team portal data to the cloud storage gateway while preserving the team portal's file permissions and directory structure. If you are a cloud storage gateway administrator, you can choose which users' content and directories in the team portal are synced to the gateway.
Each team member accesses the content that was synced to the gateway according to the permission set defined for their access on the portal. Team members must have user names on the cloud storage gateway that match their user names on the team portal.
The synced team portal files are stored in the "cloud" share, and users can access the files via any file sharing protocol supported by the cloud storage gateway.
Note: CTERA recommends integrating the portal and gateway with a directory service so that you do not need to manually create user accounts on the cloud storage gateway to match user accounts on the team portal. For information about integrating the cloud storage gateway with Active Directory, see
Configuring Windows File Sharing for an Individual Active Directory Domain.
