Local File Sharing : Network Sharing Protocols

Network Sharing Protocols
The cloud storage gateway supports the following protocols for sharing files and folders over the network:
Windows File Sharing. Windows file sharing is enabled on all network shares and enables Windows clients on the network to access the shares through Windows. For more details, see Windows File Sharing.
Apple File Sharing. When Apple File Sharing is enabled, users with Mac OS X and Mac OS-based clients can access network shares on the cloud storage gateway, using the Apple Filing Protocol (AFP).
Furthermore, enabling Apple File Sharing allows the cloud storage gateway to act as a repository for Apple Time Machine backup files.
FTP. FTP is a protocol used to transfer files from one device to another over a network. You can set up an FTP server on your cloud storage gateway and share files by FTP. Users can access and download the files you share using a web browser. You can set up the FTP server to require username-password authentication or to allow anonymous connections.
RSync. The cloud storage gateway can act as an RSync Server, allowing users to efficiently synchronize files and folders on their RSync clients or CTERA cloud storage gateways with the cloud storage gateway.
NFS. When Network File System (NFS) access is enabled, clients with certain IP addresses can access network shares on the cloud storage gateway, as if the shares were located on the client's hard drive.
