Configuring Network Settings
By default, the cloud storage gateway is automatically assigned an IP address and DNS settings by the DHCP server. If your network uses static IP addresses instead of DHCP, you must configure the cloud storage gateway's network settings.
Note: If a DHCP server is not available, then, after one minute, the cloud storage gateway uses IP address 192.168.192.5.
Note: You can apply a custom DNS configuration to each Cloud Storage Gateway according to its DHCP class identifier.
To configure network settings:
1 In the Configuration tab, select System > Network.
2 In the Network area, click Settings.
3 Configure the settings.
a Specify how the cloud storage gateway is assigned an IP address:
• Obtain an IP address automatically: The cloud storage gateway obtains an IP address automatically from the DHCP server in your network. This is the default setting.
• Use the following IP address: Choose this option to assign the cloud storage gateway a static IP address, and then specify the IP address, netmask, and default gateway in the relevant fields.
b Specify how the cloud storage gateway obtains a DNS server address:
• Obtain a DNS server address automatically: The cloud storage gateway obtains DNS server addresses automatically from the DHCP server in your network. This is the default setting.
• Use the following DNS server address: Choose this option to specify DNS servers for the cloud storage gateway, and then specify the address of the primary and secondary DNS servers in the relevant fields.
