Configuring Ethernet Port Settings
By default, the cloud storage gateway automatically detects the Ethernet port's link speed and duplex. If desired, you can manually restrict the Ethernet port to a specific link speed and duplex.
You can also configure cloud storage gateway to use jumbo frames. While the standard Ethernet frame is 1500 bytes, jumbo frames are larger, with the conventional jumbo frame size being 9000 bytes.
Warning: If you enable jumbo frames, you must configure all computers in the cloud storage gateway's network segment to use the same Ethernet frame size (maximum transmission unit, or MTU). If you do not set all computers to the same MTU, you may lose connectivity to the cloud storage gateway.
To configure the Ethernet port settings:
1 In the Configuration tab, select System > Network.
2 In the Network area, click Settings.
3 Select the Ethernet tab
4 Change the port speed and frame size as necessary.
a Select one of the following:
• Automatic to configure the port to automatically detect the link speed and duplex (Default).
• A specific speed and duplex.
b Check Use Jumbo frames to use jumbo frames,
c Type the maximum transmission unit in bytes, if you enabled jumbo frames.
5 Click Save.
