Storage : Setting Up Volumes : XFS File Systems

XFS File Systems
Starting with version 5.5, the Cloud Storage Gateway supports XFS file systems, which allow you to create volumes greater than 16TB. This is not possible when using EXT3 and NEXT3 file systems. The larger volumes may be required by large customer branch offices and for gateways residing in data centers.
The XFS file system is supported on both physical and virtual gateways, with the exception of the C200. Use of XFS on a virtual gateway depends on your license type. You can change a virtual gateway’s volume size and enlarge it via the hypervisor’s management interface.
When using XFS, the following conditions apply:
XFS does not provide a snapshot mechanism.
Open files are not backed up during cloud backup.
XFS volumes cannot be shrunk.
XFS cannot be converted to or from NEXT3 or EXT3.
