Viewing Network Shares Using Mac OS-X Finder
When accessing a Caching Gateway, you have to configure the Mac so that icon previews and size details are not set and that hidden .DS_Store files are not enabled and that stub files have an indication in Finder that they are stubs.
To configure the Mac when connecting to a Caching Gateway, see Accessing a Caching Gateway From a Mac.
You can connect to a CTERA Edge Filer over a local network or over the Internet. On the initial connection to the Edge Filer, you sign in with your Edge Filer account credentials. Your Edge Filer user account is registered on the gateway as the agent's owner.
The following procedure allows you to view network shares using Mac OS-X Finder when Apple File Sharing is configured.
1 Open Mac OS-X Finder.
2 In the left pane, in the SHARED area, click on the name of your gateway.
A list of network shares is displayed in the right pane.
3 If the share requires authentication, in the top-right corner of the window, click Connect As, then enter your username and password.
