Create a Security Group

A security group acts as a firewall that controls the traffic for the instance, with rules that allow traffic to or from its associated instances.

To create a security group

1. From your Amazon Web Services account, sign in to the AWS Management Console (Open the My Account menu and select AWS Management Console).
2. Click EC2.

   The EC2 dashboard opens.

3. Under NETWORK & SECURITY, click Security Groups.

   The Security Groups page appears.

   

4. Click Create Security Group and create a new security group and add rules as necessary to open ports according to firewall requirements described in Requirements.
